I sat down with Pedro Powell the other night and asked him a few questions, and these are the thoughts that he wanted to share with CENTRAL VA.

So where are you from? Hawkins Ville GA

At what age did you begin playing baseball? 4

High school: Hawkinsville High School

What Position did you play in High school? SS & Out Field

I saw that you played football and run track in high school what made you decide to play baseball? I was drafted by baseball first.

Favorite HS Memory: In 2001 I scored from second and won the game.

Where did you go to College? Middle Georgia College Warriors

Favorite college Memory: In my first game I went 5 for 5

AWARDS: Made the all-star game in 02-03

Is the number 2 personal? I began wearing the number two when I got to Lynchburg

Who is your favorite pro team? Atlanta

Who is your Favorite Player: Curtis Granderson of the Detroit Tigers

So who are some teams that are currently looking at you? Astros, White Sox and the Orioles.

So if they all wanted you where would you like to go? Astros

So what’s next, if baseball does not work out? I would like to coach kids baseball. I would like to start a sports camp for kids in the Lynchburg area.

And my last question, your thoughts on the Hill City: I love Lynchburg; it is like a second home for me. I love all of the fans and would like to thank them for all of the support that they gave me over the years.

So where are you from? Martin County Florida
At what age did you begin playing baseball? I started playing baseball at the age of 4
High school: Martin County High school
What Position did you play in High school? Pitcher and Second base
Favorite HS Memory: Getting the start against my high school rival and getting the win in 9 innings.
Where did you go to College? Florida Atlantic University
Favorite college Memory: Getting a triple play against Belmont University to get my 1st save freshman year.
AWARDS: All State in HS and pitcher of the year in Hickory

So is there something special about number 39? No not really just a number that i have carried through out my pro ball.
What do you believe is your greatest asset to the team? I am not a vocal player so I believe that my consist antsy on the field speaks for itself.
So what is your favorite pro team: I would have to say the Florida Marlins, growing up in Florida.
So what or who is your Favorite Player: Growing up my two favorite players were Nolan Ryan and Gregg Maddox. But now Brandon Webb is the player that I look up to. We both have the same pitching styles.
What do you believe is you most dominant pitch: I believe that my curve ball is my number one pitch.
And my last question, your thoughts on the Hill City: Small town with a close community.
